The City of Myrtle Beach has new rules for the boardwalk, which will open officially on May 15.

Tuesday, City Council set limits on the hours that dogs will be allowed on the new boardwalk.

From the day after Labor Day to May 1, dogs will be allowed any time, as long as they're on a leash. During the summer, they'll only be allowed from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The city also made it illegal to camp on or under the boardwalk.

And, the city approved its first three boardwalk vendor permits for hot dogs, lemonade and Italian Ice.
