Deputies charged Amy Barhite, 32, with criminal solicitation of a minor.

A former West Florence High School teacher was arrested for sending explicit text messages to or "sexting" some of her students.

Deputies charged Amy Barhite, 32, with criminal solicitation of a minor.

Deputies say she was texting the students to take part in sexual activity with her.

Barhite resigned shortly after the investigation began last month.

She has been released from jail on $5,000 bond.
