(AP) -- A group that aims to empower black residents in South Carolina is hosting a discussion on racial profiling.
The Columbia Urban League is hosting a town hall meeting Thursday at the Richland County Judicial Center in Columbia. Allen University, Benedict College and the University of South Carolina are also co-hosting the event.
Organizers say the conversation is important, as the issue has been highlighted by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
There are several speakers expected, including Solicitor Barney Giese and a representative from the U.S. Justice Department. Former Columbia police chief and city manager Charles Austin is moderating
the debate.
