Five years after a Florence County man disappeared, his wife has been charged with his murder.

Remains were found in July under a home in lower Florence County, which are are now confirmed to be those of Randy Bratschi. Deputies arrested Brenda Bratschi during a traffic stop Monday morning.  They also charged her son, Frankie Miles, with misprison of a felon which is not reporting a crime.

Brenda has been a suspect in her late husband's disappearance from day one.

In July, a man moving a mobile home on North Old Georgetown Road between Coward and Scranton found Bratschi's remains. The remains were buried under the house - covered by a tarp.

Bratschi disappeared in November of 2004. Police say the month before he disappeared, his wife beat him. Deputies aren't saying how Bratschi was killed, but say the evidence points to his wife.

Florence County Sheriff Kenney Boone says his investigators never gave up. "They never gave up on this particular case. They deserved the credit . They worked really hard. It's like building a house. They started out on the foundation on a case and ended up with an arrest."

Forensics experts at the University of Texas identified the remains as Bratschi's just a few days ago. Police say the arrest should bring some closure for his family.

It could be some time before a bond hearing is held for Brenda Bratschi, who is in custody at the Florence County Detention Center.

Sheriff Boone says this investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are likely.
