(AP) -- FORT JACKSON, S.C. (AP) - The Army is moving a training course for translators and interpreters from a South Carolina post to its main program for intelligence
training activities in Arizona.
Army officials announced Wednesday that seven military training jobs will move from Fort Jackson to the Army's Intelligence Center located at Fort Huachuca (wa-
CHOO'-kah).
Six civilian jobs at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, Calif., will also relocate.
The changes will be made by January 2010.
No specific languages were specified in the announcement.
The Army says the move will ensure soldiers get technical training necessary alongside other soldiers who are in similar occupational specialties.
Fort Jackson is the Army's largest training installation, with 50,000 soldiers involved in basic and advance training courses.
