NewsChannel 15 has learned state legislators in Dillon County will have to soon appoint four new members to the election commission.

The director of the Dillon County Voter Registration Office, Susie Edwards, said four of the five election commissioners told her they will be resigning: Douglas Ray Rogers, Franklin Caryle Price, Joseph Gleason, and Fitzgerald Lytch.

Officials with Governor Mark Sanford's office told NewsChannel 15 in September they had started the process to remove the commissioners because they weren't certified.

State law requires county election commissioners to complete a program of classes within 18 months of being appointed.

We'll let you know when the resignations are final and when the new commissioners are appointed.
