The Horry County Auditor is asking you to support a program that has been helping those in need for years.

On Wednesday, Horry County Auditor Lois Eargle hosted a press conference pledging the county's support for the Churches Assisting People program.

CAP Executive Director Gail Steinfield also spoke about how an all-time favorite can help families in time of need.

"Something just as simple and peanut butter and jelly and a little bread," Steinfield said. "I think it's critical at this time to realize how many people out there are struggling to eat," she said.

Eargle says the CAP program has already provided meals for 225,000 people this year.

CAP members have posted the "Spread the Love" signs, encouraging people to donate lots of peanut butter and jelly.

CAP is open five days a week in Conway. To donate or if you need help, call CAP at 488-2277.
