Talks between have ceased between Florence County economic officials and representatives from a company that once promised to bring 3,000 jobs to the area.

In July, Smosska held a job fair in Florence saying then they needed 3,000 workers for their business in the hospital and medical industry.

The State Employment Security Commission stopped referrals to the company in August.

Florence economic officials says they've made numerous calls to Smosska to follow up on matters, but have never heard back from them.

The Better Business Bureau is investigating the legitimacy of the company and plans to turn its findings over to the state attorney general's office.
