Seven years to the day after Alice Donovan of Horry County disappeared, her family held her funeral service in Conway Saturday afternoon.

Those who knew Donovan well and those who only knew of her paid their respects at Hillcrest Cemetary.

The 44-year-old from Galivants Ferry was kidnapped from the Conway Wal-Mart on November 14th 2002 and later killed.

Friends say the service brought a measure of relief.

"I'm really happy that we've had this service today because Alice is home," said Donovan's good friend, Jim Brown. "She's here with us all and we were able to bring peace to the family."

Donovan's remains were found last January but DNA tests didn't confirm that it was her until this past July.

Chadrick Fulks and Brandon Basham, are both on death row in Indiana for her murder.

After 7 long years of greef and no closure, this family can finally lay to rest thier loved one. This will help to mend wounds, but please God let the men responsible for this tradgedy pay the ultimate price for thier selfish acts of crime. May God be with this family in thier time of healing

To the Donavan family I wish you peace and closure. This was such a horrible crime that took place and have thought about it many times over the years.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
