My God, where will all the underage kids go to get hammered and be slipped roofies, that place was so ridiculous, 30 year old bartenders, serving 16 year old girls, club owners who thought they were john gotti, Take care, you guys were overpriced, your employee's were freakin snoots, and your dj was a joke, I'd take Broadway at the beach any day of the week over there, atleast all the employee's in the square are grounded, Kryptonite will only be missed my Cocaine dealers and pre pubesent teen girls who's fake id's dont work at Broadway

"Greed"

This Club has been around for a very long time. In todays economy I don't see how Burroughs and Chapin expects their rent on time. I think they should have just worked out a payment plan with Club Kryptonite. I have only been there about 5 times but they were always packed. I don't think they were behind what I do think is that the rent got raised due to be greedy. It seems in our town things are getting worst instead of better thanks to our Mayor and city. They ran out bike week which cost our town lots of revenue thanks to all these retirees that have come into our state that don't care for the noise. My theroy if you don't like it get out and move back where you came from. We did not ask you to move here. This is not a retirement place this is a tourist area. Same thing goes with this Club, if you don't like it get out!!! I'm actually from here and yes i am not a transplant. This was one of the biggest Nite Clubs around and it ashame it closed down. Nice going Burroughs & Chapin!!!!

what a surprise....

It is really sad to see where this town is heading to, its bad enough that bike week was canceled.. now one of the largest clubs in town is closed.... Yes they didnt pay their rent and that is bad, but try to work out some kind of a payment plan or something.... better to have something then another ghost building on the side of the rode.... it seems like those appear around town very quickly.....
it is kinda of sad...

Club Kryptonite

Posted by Local Local, Myrtle Beach - Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 12:40 p.m.

Before Club Kryptonite, Myrtle Beach didnt have a real dance club comparable to ones in Miami, New York, and Vegas. They threw parties Myrtle Beach has never seen before. They gave us 7 strong years and BROADWAY DOESN'T EVEN COME CLOSE IN COMPARISON. Robert Lewis obviously hasn't been to Broadway recently. I was there this weekend. Broadway has the same people with the exception of more 40/50+ year olds who visit Revolutions and Crocodile Rocks. And Broadway has more violence and crime then Club Kryptonite ever did. Club Kryptonite didn't become ghetto and gay...Myrtle Beach did thanks to our Mayor and the economy. And how do you compare a club that holds 2,000 people with one across the street that holds only 300 to 500?? Doesn't take much for them to look busy now does it? And I recall many nights were Club Kryptonite was slammed pack. That was a huge venue! And I applaud them for filling it night after night.

Club Kryptonite tried to give this city national attention. During Bike Week they had the Orange County Choppers here year after year. The lines were ridiculous, people of all ages young and old, lined up for hours. OCC unvailed a bike and filmed an episode at Club Kryptonite which aired on the Discovery Channel. But soon the city took that away by drawing up new zoning laws for Bike Week. And Club Kryptonite was no longer allowed to have anything in there parking lot. THANKS CITY!!

I remember E! being at Club Kryptonite also. If you ever walked in the Lobby you could see photos of celebrities who visited the Club...Gene Simmons, Shaquille O'Neil, Orange County Choppers, Busta Rhymes, Vanilla Ice, Ying Yang Twins, Flo Rida, Tracy McGrady, Anna Nicole Smith, Brett Michaels, numerous MTV celebrities, playmates, and sport stars...the list goes on and on.

And lets not forget about the Vegas style boxing events Club Kryptonite had ever year...King of the Ring. Those events were something outside of the box and the town loved them.

People can say all the negative stuff they want about Club Kryptonite. But being a nightclub in Myrtle Beach for 7 years is a huge accomplishment for them, especially since there venue was so big. They made history in Myrtle Beach. I thank them for showing this town how real nightlife should be, for throwing the best parties and events, and for giving me some of the best nights and memories of my life! THANK YOU CLUB KRYPTONITE!! YOU WILL BE MISSED!

And just remember all the positive and even the negative comments just make you even more recognized. You were and obviously still are something worth talking about.

It was coming

The place became Gay and Ghetto really quick. At least Broadway keeps things clean and family friendly

Another one bites the dust

Here we have another soon to be eye sore along business 17 due to ridiculous rent. MB has seen its bubble and it is gone. Lets get back to normal. If this means filtering out some bottom feeders then so be it. MB is overbuilt, over extended, and under capitalized! There simply isn't enough revenue to go around for all of the businesses that are in the area. How many strip malls, restaurants, hotels, condos, etc. can one small market the size of MB sustain? It's going to be a long cold winter. Hold on!
