Voters in Hartsville are casting ballots Tuesday, to see who will be the next mayor of the All America City.
In August, Michael Holt stepped down as Hartsville's mayor because he had accepted a position as a full-time family court judge. The Mayor Pro Tem has been filling in. Now, two long time Hartsville residents are looking to lead the city.
Hartsville is littered with falling leaves and bright red and yellow political signs, as Pam Sansbury squares off against Mel Pennington to be the next mayor of the 1996 All America City. Residents say the election is the talk of the town.
Some residents we spoke with say when it comes to issues, the most pressing is the city's water rates.
Pam Sansbury is the former city finance director and a former city council member.
Mel Pennington is on Hartsville's planning commission.
Residents in Hartsville will also cast ballots for three city council seats up for grabs.
