A passenger in an early Saturday morning fatal crash on Knotty Branch Road near Conway is recovering at the hospital.

Horry County Coroner Robert Edge says that crash killed 18-year-old Benjamin Dale Cunningham of Conway.

We're told the passenger who is now recovering at the hospital is Bobby Watford, a former Conway High School pitcher for the baseball team and current freshman on the Coastal Carolina University baseball team.

Conway High baseball coach Anthony Carroll tells NewsChannel 15 that Watford has undergone surgery and suffered some broken bones, but that he is recovering at New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

We're told the entire CCU baseball team went to Wilmington to be with Watford.
