Captain Cliff Arnette with the Dillon County Sheriff's Office says the burglary suspect they were searching for Thursday afternoon, surrendered to police.

Officers were searching for Justin Townsend off North Bear Swamp Road near the Ford Town community.

Arnett says Thursday afternoon officers went to Townsend's home to charge him in connection with the theft of a large sum of money from a home.

Arnette says Townsend took off running into the woods but later came out and surrendered to police.

Townsend is charged with burglary and grand larceny.
