The Carolina Forest area is one step closer to getting a new county library and recreation center.

The County Infrastructure Committee has approved putting both buildings on a 34 acre site on Carolina Forest Boulevard.

The county is back to its original location after a land swap deal for a bigger site fell through.

Each building would be about 20,000 square feet and cost around $4 million.

County Council will take up the proposal next month.
