NC man charged with murder in Little River

56-year-old Dale McDuffy Hammond was shot several times at his home on River Road.

Horry County police have charged a North Carolina man with murder after a shooting last night in Little River.

56-year-old Dale McDuffy Hammond was shot several times at his home on River Road. His body was found near his pool deck. Horry County police say Hammond knew the man they've now charged with his murder.

57-year-old Thomas Edward Shipplett is the man accused of shooting and killing Hammond. Shipplett is from Ash, North Carolina.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting.
