Officials with the South Carolina Court of Appeals tell us it could be a year before they decide if they will hear an appeal of a Dillon County man convicted in the death of a 10 year old boy.
Earlier this month, a jury found Bentley Collins guilty of involuntary manslaughter and owning dangerous animals.
In 2006, Collins' six dogs mauled to death 10 year old John Matthew Davis as he walked home.
He is appealing his five year prison sentence and conviction.
Court officials tell us his appeal is in the early stages, and could be up to a year before a panel of judges decide if they will hear Collins' argument.
