Governor Mark Sanford has set aside November 10th thru the 14th to bring awareness to insurance fraud.

Insurance fraud costs nearly $120 billion a year. That is nearly $950 for each family .

The governor's office says the only way to stop insurance fraud is to report it. To do so, you can call the state's toll-free hotline 1-888-95-FRAUD.

Insurance fraud is a felony in South Carolina and can lead to prison time.
