Myrtle Beach firefighters say discarded smoking materials caused the fire Wednesday morning that sent one person to the hospital.
The fire started at a home on the corner of 7th Avenue North and Flagg Street around 7:10 a.m.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the porch area.
They had the fire under control within ten minutes.
One person was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center with burns.
