Jo'von Cauthen is Darlington Police Department's Officer of the Year.
He's worked with the department's patrol unit since July of 2009.
Sergeant Kim Nelson says it was a very hard decision in selecting their officer of the year, but says Cauthen was the right choice.
His fellow officers describe him as a hard-worker who is dedicated to the job on and off the clock.
They say Cauthen goes the extra mile to look out for residents and is always willing to lend a helping hand when needed.
