Fifteen women in Little River have sewn 2,000 blankets for kids who are in the hospital, or just need a little security, through Project Linus.

Project Linus started with one woman who made a blanket for a child with cancer, and now brings warmth to children all over the United States.

One of the women told a story about one blanket that's brought them something even more.

"The mom put the blanket and buried him with it. but she wouldn't tell us which one of us made the blanket, so we all got the opportunity to say maybe it was our blanket that meant so much to that little boy," Joan Holland with Project Linus said.

The women with the group in Little River got together Tuesday to celebrate their 2,000th blanket.
