A national grant organization hand picked one local school for preparing their students for higher education.
Whittemore Park Middle School in Conway received a next generation learning challenge grant.
The school will receive $150,000 to improve college readiness and completion.
The school was chosen for the grant because of their iCan model of teaching.
"It's a preparation to get kids into college using technology. These are the digital natives. They have been born with computers in their hands or laptops or mobile devices. That's how they learn so school now is having to change to catch up with these digital natives," said Judy Beard, Principal at Whittemore Middle.
The school is one of 13 across the nation that will get funding from various charities and organizations.
