HTC wants to make sure everyone has the ability to stay connected through their Lifeline program.

They offer the Lifeline Program to any household whose income is at or below 135 percent of the federal poverty level or if they receive any one of several benefits, including food stamps, free school lunch, family independence(TANF), federal housing assistance, medicaid, or supplemental security income.

It is Lifeline Awareness week and HTC hopes to increase awareness of South Carolina's Lifeline assistance program.

The program offers a discount for both home phone and cell service.

For program enrollment, HTC customers must visit an HTC location to present a photo ID and proof of eligibility.

To see if you qualify, call 843-365-2154.
