There were smiles all around at a Conway nursing home Wednesday. Flower arrangements were delivered to residents of Anderson Oaks Assisted Living facility, as part of Make Someone Smile Week, sponsored by Teleflora.
Locally, the flowers were delivered by Granny's Florist of Conway, which handed out 60 arrangements at Anderson Oaks. The florist planned to deliver another 60 bouquets to residents of Agape Senior Living in Conway.
The bright yellow blossoms did what they were supposed to do for Anderson Oaks resident Jane Biskup. They made her smile.
"I can sit here and look at them most every day and keep them watered. They stay a long time in this room, though," she said.
Volunteers from the youth group from Langston Baptist Church went door to door at Anderson Oaks, handing out the bouquets.
Last year, Teleflora retailers delivered more than 25,000 floral arrangements during Make Someone Smile Week. More than 1,000 florists donated their time to help out.
