The Salvation Army of Horry County officially opened their building for the Boys and Girls Club in Conway Tuesday.

The new building was a $1.2 billion project that has been 11 years in the making.

Around 50 kids are currently enrolled in the Boys and Girls program, but Bret McElroy, a Salvation Army Corps officer, is hoping to expand that dramatically.

The facility will house a full court gymnasium, classrooms, and a kitchen.

"We have everything we need to provide a great program," said McElroy.

The summer day camp program begins Wednesday, June 6.

They currently offer a five-day program for $50 a week and a three-day program for $30 a week.

There is monetary assistance for those who qualify.

The Boys and Girls Club is always looking for individuals or businesses to sponsor children.

You can call 1-843-488-2769 for more information on camp registration or to become a sponsor.
