Taylor came to WPDE in 2011 from Greensboro, N.C., after working at WFMY News 2 and reporting for the Elon Sports Network.

Two students from our area are in Washington D.C. for the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Jacob Evers is a 7th grader at McColl Elementary/ Middle School. He plays baseball, football, and basketball, and is president on his student body.

Isabella Mika Neubauer is a 6th grader at Lowcountry Preparatory School in Pawleys Island. She plays volleyball and golf and was in the spelling bee last year.

The spelling bee starts Wednesday.
