Students at Southside Middle School in Florence entertained hundreds of senior citizens Thursday.
They shagged and did the electric slide at the annual Swinging with Seniors.
The students served boiled peanuts, pizza and soft drinks. The school's orchestra also performed.
The ladies of the Red Hat Society also showed up in big numbers.
The event seeks to bridge the gap between students and the senior generation.
"It's a good experience, so we can learn when we get older if we have a job that has to deal with wheelchairs and stuff that we'll be able to be prepared and it's good that we can serve to our community," said Olivia Locklear, a student at Southside Middle School
This year's special guests included Southside Middle's former principal and an official with the State Department of Education.
