Most students use their spring break week to relax, but some decided on to help out those in need instead.
Marion County Habitat for Humanity has 60 students giving up their free time to help build a house for those who need it.
The students came to Marion County from Ohio, Virginia, New York, and Kentucky. A couple of schools will visit each week for three weeks to work on a portion of a house in Nichols. It's hard work, but they don't look at it as a sacrifice.
"You build character here. It's more than just building a house. It's building relationships with the people down here, with your own group, and you just learn to value what you have," says Shineigh Wren, a senior at Siena College in Albany, New York.
The Habitat for Humanity Executive Director, Ricky Hardee, says the volunteers help cut down the cost of the house.
