The South Carolina Corrections Department is looking for a male inmate who escaped from minimum-security Lower Savannah Pre-Release Center in Aiken.
Brandon McDonald, 29, was confirmed missing from the institution about 12:20 a.m.
McDonald started serving a four year, one month sentence for assault and battery in September of 2009. He was convicted in Greenwood County.
He now faces a charge of felony escape, which carries between one and 15 years in prison.
Between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., anyone with information is asked to contact Corrections' Fugitive Apprehension Unit at 1-877-349-2130.
After 5 p.m., call 1-803-896-2258, the S.C. Law Enforcement Division at 1-803-737-9000, or local law enforcement.
