Despite the cold Thursday night, people came out to the site to watch. They say what's going on for the Suggs family warms your heart.
Randall Phipps' 12 year old son wanted to see what had been done. After all, it's not everyday a national TV show builds a home in your area.
"This is very exciting for Loris. This is a huge step. You see all the other places, you think, well they'll never come see us, and they're here," Phipps said.
Another group of young people came to the Extreme Makeover site because they know the Suggs family.
'I've known Jacob and James. I've actually known the family for about six years now, and I just live a half a mile down the road, and I figured I'd see a new house being built for them. I thought it was pretty cool," said Kyle Lewis.
"Plus Jacob and James and all them, they really do deserve this. They've got a lot going on, and it's really good to see that they're getting this," said Brooke Pinkerton.
And they know many of the people who've volunteered on the site.
"Some students have come out from the high school, adults, parents of the students. Mostly volunteer workers from around the area, Longs, Loris and Myrtle Beach area," added Zack Soles.
So what will the Suggs think of their new home?
"Oh it's great. They're going to love it! They really deserve it. They had a hard life," said Francis Chock.
The site is open to spectators.
Shuttle buses run from Highway 701 North at Allsbrook Grill from 8am until 8pm.
