The Connaughton family from Massachusetts made the trip to Horry County for the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition build.
They came here thanks to the Make A Wish organization.
10-year-old Madelyn has mitochondrial disease. Her wish was to meet Ty Pennington and help at an Extreme Makeover build.
Her mother Terri said, they've been able to do so much more. "They did a fantastic job. They flew us out here. They've given us an expense account. They've blown us away. We came down here and our hotel room was all decorated for Maddie with little surprises. We've had limo rides, which we've never had before. They went over the top, they did a great job."
The family was here thanks in large part to Harry Dill with Sterling Homes, the builder of the Extreme Makeover house. He's also very involved with Make A Wish and wanted to make sure that Madelyn got her wish fulfilled.
