NewsChannel 15's Allyson Floyd talked with two of the designers from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition at the site Wednesday night.
Paige Hemmis and Ed Sanders were working inside and outside the home most of the day.
Paige was here in Horry County in 2007 to help build Renee Wilson's home for the show. She said she was glad to come back.
"We got off the plane, and we heard, welcome back, thank you for being here. And it's so nice to feel like we've come home. You know they've opened their hearts, opened their homes to us, and come out there and said we're really happy that you're here." Paige continued, "And especially now today, you know when we were here last time, the economic swing was on the rise. Homebuilding was on the rise. It is a difficult time, yet people more than ever are coming out, and they're opening up everything. Half these people aren't working right now, but they're volunteering for us and that touches my heart in so many ways."
Ed Sanders went on to say, "It makes you think, going through a recession on our show, we need the help of the people, and so many people watching don't realize that everything is donated, volunteers, time, labor, materials, products. Like Paige said, it's a recession and you guys, everyone, still gives with open arms. They still want to help out a family they don't even know. Paige said it best, it touches your heart. You know you're surrounded by good people."
