Sterling Homes, Horry County Government, United Way of Horry County and Wal-Mart are working to collect 100 tons of food and they need your help to reach their goal.

The Extreme County-Wide Canned Food Drive started Monday, December 28th and ends Sunday, January 17th. This monumental food drive will help restock food pantries throughout the area that are in desperate need of supplies following the holidays.

The 100 tons of food will help fill local food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens and children's homes throughout Horry County.

At today's weigh-in, we learned 10 tons of food have been collected so far.

For more information, visit the United Way of Horry County website or the Extreme Horry website.

You can also call the United Way office at 843-347-5195.
