Testing for temporary census jobs held Saturday

The US Census Bureau says it will be hiring 2,000 people to work in Horry, Georgetown, Florence, Marion and Darlington counties starting in January.

The bureau will hold testing for the jobs on Saturday, December 12th at Horry Georgetown Technical College and Florence Darlington Technical College from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

The bureau says most of the jobs will last about 8 weeks. The pay is approximately $11.50 per hour.

Most of the jobs are field positions, but there are some office and supervisor positions available.

Candidates need to bring a picture ID, social security card, or a valid passport.
