Along with turkey and stuffing, Bluegrass music is a Thanksgiving tradition on the Grand Strand.
The 40th annual South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival is underway at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
More than a dozen Bluegrass bands will perform over the next two days, including the legendary Ralph Stanley.
The musicians say they enjoy being in Myrtle Beach for the holiday.
"A lot of the players that come to the festival to present their shows will bring family members with them. And include family as much as they can. And we all get together for music and food on Thanksgiving Day here, so it's nice," said organizer Sherry Boyd.
Boyd says Bluegrass is popular because it's a social music, and accessible to the fans.
They can meet and greet their favorite performers before and after the show.
