A North Carolina correctional officer and two others were arrested in a Bennettsville drug bust this week, the authorities said Saturday.

The Marlboro County Sheriff's Office announced it seized close to ten pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop and a search of a home on Highway 38.

Deputies stopped Larry Wayne Douglas and Nicholas Williams on Thursday and found around five pounds of marijuana and crack cocaine, Lt. Jamie Seales said in a news release.

Seales said deputies served a search warrant for a home located at 3138 Hwy 38 in Bennettsville where they found more marijuana. Dominique Moore, a correctional officer in Lanesboro, NC, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Deputies charged Williams with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of crack cocaine.

Douglas was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of crack cocaine. He was also charged with assault with intent to kill, assault and battery of high and aggravated nature and possession of a firearm by persons unlawful for an unrelated incident at a nightclub a few weeks prior, Seales said.

"This investigation has been ongoing for several weeks and will now continue after the arrest. It has been one of my goals as sheriff to intercept large quantities of illegal narcotics coming into Marlboro County before they are able to be distributed, we were successful this time," Sheriff Knight was quoted as saying in the news release.

Simple

It isnt as simple as you wish to make it and as for me I am not going anywhere unless they move my dead body. I realize that the great majority of police officers are honest, hard working men and women serving us but a bad apple in a position as such is much more dangerous than an ordinary citizen. America has become complacent and we believe we are great at everything and we have sat on our laurels instead of improving.I have watched fraud at the voting booth in Bennettsville and I know of two officers that lied and that is from my eyes.Where there is smoke there is fire and I doubt there is much you can tell me about the system. If you wish to move so be it, I prefer to correct the problem instead of running from it.

i can solve ur problem

Get a passport, buy a plane ticket and move to another country. Call me in a year and tell me about corrupt police and politics. There are some bad seeds but to the good guys credit, most of them get caught..

Crooked Enforcement Officers

Posted by James A., Bennettsville - Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 8:24 a.m.

We are living in a day and time it appears that those in charge and control of the Judicial and Penal Systems are willing to do anything. For a fact I know of two cases where police officers have lied.I even contacted those in charge and the one I contacted apparently helped his officer cover up one of the lies. We must expect and demand more from those that have the right to take our rights away. I suggest civilian commissions of some sort to oversee what is going on in these departments. They all including lawyers, judges and police officers should be polygraphed at least twice a year. The Judicial System in America is a failure because they are encouraged by corrupt politicians and are given just to much room to operate. It is a sad day when we cant trust those who swear and oath to protect us.
