A Florence County magistrate has been placed on interim suspension, following an ethical complaint filed against him.

Officials with the South Carolina disciplinary council say the State Supreme Court suspended Jake "F" Strickland, Jr. in June.

The disciplinary council say they're investigating the complaint, but can't reveal any details.

Strickland will remain off the bench until the matter is resolved.

He serves as a magistrate in the town of Olanta.
