NewsChannel 15 has learned that Musashi of Bennettsville will close at the end of December, putting 157 people out of work.
Company officials say they'll stop receiving new orders October 31st and will spend the remainder of the year completing work on those orders.
Musashi has been in Bennettsville for 8 years, producing automotive and ATV gears.
A spokesperson in the human resources department says the closure is a result of the economy and a restructuring of the company.
In March of this year, 60 jobs were eliminated at the plant, when Suzuki and Honda moved assembly lines to Japan. We're told several other layoffs throughout the summer brought the number of employees to its current number of 157.
