The summer is winding down, but law enforcement officers aren't taking a break just yet.

The South Carolina Department of Public Safety, local law enforcement officials, and the state Department of Natural Resources launched the Sober or Slammer Labor Day DUI enforcement effort Thursday.

Officers say they will be keeping an eye out for drunk drivers as the Labor Day Weekend approaches.

Thursday, the DPS held a mock safety checkpoint and showed off their Breath Alcohol Testing unit or Batmobile to illustrate how they'll be cracking down.
