Cheraw Police Department gets stimulus money

Cheraw is getting stimulus money from the federal government, and that money is going to the town's police department.

The $16,500 grant will purchase a new telephone system and a new video surveillance system for the department.

The money comes from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development, under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
