Police: Robber attempted to remove man's eye with knife

Horry County Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened early Wednesday morning. The victim told police two men, one armed with a gun and the other with a knife, approached him while he was opening Martin's Place at 3842 Joyner Swamp Road in Aynor.

The victim told investigators the men tied his hands with a nylon cord and placed him in his own truck. He said after he was able to free his hands one of the robbers stabbed him in the leg and side. Police say one of the robbers also tried to remove the victim's eye with the knife.

The robbers then fled on foot with an unknown of money.

The victim was flown to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in an attempt to save his eye.
