A Marlboro County man has been sentenced for his involvement in a gang shooting.

23-year-old Laqurone Kinney of Bennettsville was sentenced to more than nine years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Kinney was identified as the driver of a vehicle involved in a drive-by shooting in Bennettsville in March 2007.

The victim, a known member of a gang, was shot in the hip by a rival gang.

Kinney was arrested in December of that year and had the gun involved in the shooting tucked in his waistband.
