Thursday afternoon, community leaders in the Pee Dee held a rally to end the foreclosure crisis.
A crowd of people gathered outside the courthouse in Bennettsville for the rally.
The Marlboro County Community Development Corporation sponsored the event as part of a National Day of Action.
The purpose of the event is to raise awareness to stop foreclosures, rebuild communities, and create jobs.
"We're in some crucial times. If people have jobs, then they can buy a house. They can't pay their normal bills," said Rev. Charles Malloy with the Marlboro County CDC.
One local lawmaker also attended the rally. Representative Doug Jennings said, "Teamwork approach when it comes to creating jobs. It really starts from the top and goes to the bottom"
Officials with the Community Development Corporation of Marlboro County said they're helping to find people jobs, and they've held several foreclosure clinics in recent months.
