SC health officials will test samples on Monday to find out why so many people became sick after a barbeque at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center last week.

DHEC confirms at least 11 people became ill with nausea and diarrhea after a "thank you" party for Congressman Henry Brown. NewsChannel 15 heard from several people who attended the barbeque and got sick.

"My daughter and I attended this function... and, yes, we both got sick. It may have been the pork ...or even the baked beans with meat ...they even served quail."

DHEC says it could've been from the food or it may be a norovirus -- which is a highly contagious gastrointestinal bug. Stay tuned to NewsChannel 15 and CarolinaLive.com for DHEC's test results on Monday.

I attended the function late in the day. The only one I may have made sick, from myself and nothing else, was the only and only Mayor Johnny R.
The only foods available at that hour was Pulled Pork, a Cole Slaw and fried Quayle. Oops, not Dan, tho' if he was there more may have been ill because of other reasons. Naw twas quail.
