ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) -- A South Carolina man has been arrested and charged with murder in weekend shooting death of an Anderson County man.
Sheriff's Lt. Garland Major says 25-year-old Johnny Lee Mackey of Anderson also is charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Deputies say 32-year-old Waliyyudden Dawson of Iva was shot several times during an argument Saturday afternoon.
Major says Mackey was arrested Saturday evening and was awaiting a bond hearing. It was unclear if Mackey had an attorney.
Major says Mackey was free on bond Saturday after having been charged with assault with intent to kill for trying to run over a sheriff's deputy on April 30.
