Read more: Local, HARD ROCK PARK, HARD ROCK INTERNATIONAL

Myrtle Beach's bankrupt theme park has lost one of its last connections to the Hard Rock name.

Hard Rock International has removed all mention of the failed theme park from its corporate web site.

The parent company's home page used to have a link to Hard Rock Park's web site. The link was removed a few days ago.

Local fans say it's a final sign that if the park ever comes back to life, it won't carry the Hard Rock banner, or big-name endorsements like the Eagles and Moody Blues.

Good Idea Bad Management

The Park was a great Idea but was run poorly. I loved it. I was lucky and had a friend that worked there who got me a pass or else I would have never gone. I refused to pay $10 to park and then $50 to get in the gate. I love music, all types and that is what the park offered. I could sit at the bar and listen to a live band or go down and listen to some great acoustic group. The person who said they did not have anything for black people never saw the Painted Man Band, what an awesome show! The problem was charging Disney prices when they did not have as much to offer, in a time that people were trying to stretch their dollar just to afford a family vacation. They would have made it up in volume if they would have just lowered their prices and did away with the parking fee. Then they brought in Russian contract workers who did nothing but stand in a corner and giggle. I would love to see it open back up and stay the same just charge less to get in.

A sign of things to come

I'm amazed that your theme park stayed in business as long as it did. I don't really see how anything will prosper in your area. I have visited Myrtle Beach for many years, at least three times a season. I will be taking my money elsewhere this year. To begin with, my husband and I always come to Bike Week. No, we're not on the outlaw fringe. We both ride and we came to see the vendors. It gave us an opportunity to see and demo new products. Second, we come back in July. Third, I bring my parents back in September when it cools down a little. I will not make any of these trips this year. This is mainly due to your city council's efforts to cancel bike week. FYI, keeping out the vendors will not keep out the trash that is associated with any large event. Your rowdy, bar room brawlers will come as usual! You only deterred the law abiding tourists who aren't interested in bar hopping. Second, last July I made the mistake of driving down to the area of the old Pavilion. It's a slum! I've seen places on the out skirts of New York that look about as good! I saw more rear ends hanging out than I saw at Bike Week. Where are your police? I fear this will happen to many of your businesses. I figured up what we spent each trip last year. We spent nearly $3,000 during 4 days at bike week. That was not with vendors. That was food, condo and etc. Then another $4,000 for the two trips in July and September. Your city council is obviously not tourist friendly. Further, the local people need to raise heck about getting your town cleaned up in general. What are they spending your tax dollars on? I'd demand my home look less like the "hood" whether I was interested in tourism dollars or not. I like the people of Myrtle. You guys are always hospitable but your town needs a face lift and your government needs an attitude change. In these economic times, people can find better places to spend their money and they will. I hope you can get things turned around as many more of your businesses and local people will suffer.

Hard Rock

It's not about catering to a specific audience. I totally agree about who spends 400 million dollars and expects to cover that your first year?! We never went due to the lack of attractions unless you like roller coasters. We go to Disney World every year and pay crazy money but the value is there. Look at what you get, 4 parks, 2 water parks, golf, a real theme, and a magical experience! I can't see $50 even for little kids for what? Dollywood is awesome also for families and their pricing is great! I would love to see something work here but my guess is that Harrah's will come in and bring a casino to the plate and with everything falling apart, it will be accepted. Along with the old Pavillion site! As far as the Pavillion, who could go down there any more and risk being shot?! Come on now!

Too Far Out

The pavillion was within walking distance to downtown hotels but the Hard Rock was so far away that it was not a practical trip. I never could find the road that actually led to it. The ten dollar parking was really what kept me from trying too hard. Now the first thing guests see as they arrive in Myrtle Beach is a vacant lot. What a silly decision!

I don't even know why they built the park it doesn't
benefit black comunity anyway not everybody likes rock n roll. I think the pavillion should of stayed on the beach it history for those that grew up in conway/myrtle beach or been traveling for many years. build something that benefits all race.

Who cares! What a waste! Who would spend 400 million dollars to build an amusement park and not have operating funds in reserve for at least 2 or 3 years? Tear the junk down!
