A former Socastee High School teacher's aide has been sentenced to five years in prison on charges of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and lewd acts on a minor.

Ralph Marcelle Hough, 32, of Surfside Beach was indicted this year on charges stemming from an incident last July.

Police said the student was 16 years old at the time.

Hough will have to register as a sex offender once his sentence is complete.

He is also not allowed to take a job that involves working with children.

Is it the Home of the Free?

This is absolutely crazy! I've know Ralph Marcelle Hough for 31 years. He is not capable of these charges. I am truly upset that every day I am supposed to teach young children that the justice system is fair knowing that's a LIE. The truth of the matter is he needed to be charged with something b/c the child lied and the family didn't want to look bad. I am determined to continue educating young black males about the system that "they" say is blind. Education, knowing your rights, and controlling your fear is the key. This is the only way Black America, especially black males, will get the....Home of the Free part.

I dont believe he did it
