Deadly accident in Florence County

An man from Elgin died in a car accident in Florence County Friday morning.

Kenneth Roger Lake Sr. was the only person in the Buick he was driving on Salem Road.

Highway Patrol said around 7:30 Friday morning his car veered off the right side of the road, hit a ditch and flipped.

Florence County Coroner Bubba Matthews pronounced the 62-year-old dead on the scene.
