A group that usually gives back to the community, is getting something back all of their own.

The Veteran's Resource Center in Little River was formed so any veteran from any era or branch of service could access resources like veteran benefits and job placement.

Saturday morning, the center got a make over from Home Depot. Volunteers ripped out a fence and installed a new one. They also pulled weeds, added new landscaping and installed a flagpole.

Center founder Kris Tourtellotte, a Vietnam veteran himself, said he has gotten thank you's for the work the veterans resource center does in the community, but nothing like this.

"It all comes around. I had a tear in my eye you know when we were finishing up. This means that we are doing something right," Tourtellotte said.

Jeremy Striz with Home Depot said the donated materials cost about $3,000. They also provided from labor with some 30 volunteers.

"There's nothing better than the feeling then coming out and giving back to someone whose given so much to us," added Striz.
