COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Economists from the University of South Carolina are offering forecasts for the state's economy in 2013.

Researchers Joey Von Nessen and Douglas Woodward make their predictions Wednesday at the Darla Moore School of Business. They are discussing prospects for job and income growth, and results if Washington fails to reach agreement to avoid the spending cuts and tax increases known as the "fiscal cliff."

The predictions come amid the school's annual conference that draws business leaders from across the state. InterTech Group president Jonathan Zucker delivers the keynote address.

A panel discussion on innovation and entrepreneurial activity in the state is led by Edward Sellers, board chairman of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina.
