Friday, December 14, 2012  In a special called meeting Thursday night, the mayor and some council members of Atlantic Beach made changes to leadership and how finances are handled. Council members Carolyn Cole and Windy Price were not there, and they were directly impacted by the changes.

Monday, December 03, 2012  Atlantic Beach Councilwoman Windy Price has filed another appeal of the May 22 election. This time it is with the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Friday, September 21, 2012  Atlantic Beach Mayor Retha Pierce has appealed a South Carolina Circuit Judge's ruling that there was no evidence of Fraud and Impropriety in a May 22nd town election.

Monday, August 27, 2012  Atlantic Beach councilwoman Windy Price lost her appeal of the results of the May 22 election, in which she lost her bid for mayor of Atlantic Beach.

Thursday, August 02, 2012  Horry County spokesperson Lisa Bourcier said the county has spent more than $15,000 in attorney fees alone during the various appeals process regarding the Atlantic Beach elections and the cost could increase even more.

Wednesday, August 01, 2012  After a long election appeal process in Atlantic Beach, Judge Larry Hyman dismissed the election appeal of Atlantic Beach Mayor Retha Pierce Wednesday, stating there was no evidence of Fraud and Impropriety.

Thursday, July 26, 2012  An attorney representing Atlantic Beach Councilwoman Windy Price, who is appealing the town's May 22nd election results, accused the Horry County Election Commission of "Jim Crow" style handlings of that election in an appeals hearing Thursday.

Friday, May 25, 2012  Two candidates and the head of the Atlantic Beach Election Commission attended a hearing in Conway Friday to protest the special election held in Atlantic Beach on Tuesday. The Horry County Election Commission also recertified the results of the election.

Thursday, May 24, 2012  Protests have been filed in Tuesday's Atlantic Beach election, after the results were certified. The official results show Jake Evans was the winner of the mayor's race and Josephine Isom and Charlene Taylor were the winners of the two town council seats.

Monday, April 02, 2012  Monday, NewsChannel 15 received two separate meeting agendas, one from each side. The councilmen and Mayor spent the first 45 minutes of the meeting going back and forth just trying to decide how to combine the two. When asked if the town residents deserve better, Mayor Pierce replied, "Well of course they do. They don't trust outsiders and they don't trust each other."

Tuesday, March 27, 2012  The town's mayor, Retha Pierce, had called an emergency meeting 24 hours prior and when they showed up they were locked out of the town's community center where the meeting was set to be held. Also on the door was a note saying the meeting was canceled due to no quorum. Newschannel 15 received a fax just after 4:00 p.m. with the same message. Pierce says she has also been locked out of her office at town hall.
